About SSW

‘Specified Skilled Worker’ is a new residency status that was introduced by theGovernment of Japan in April 2019, under which aspiring and eligible foreigner cantake up a job and stay in Japan. Japan introduced ‘Specified Skilled Worker’ toaddress the severe labor shortages by accepting foreign human resources with specificexpertise and skills. As of January 2021, Japan has signed SSW Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with 13 nations including India.

「特定技能」とは、2019年4月に日本政府が導入した新たな在留資格で、志ある外国人が就職して日本に滞在できるようにするものです。深刻な人手不足に対処するため、日本では特定の専門知識や技能を持った外国人人材を受け入れる「特定技能」が導入されました。 2021年1月現在、日本はインドを含む13カ国とSSW協力覚書（MoC）を締結している。
